The band have had an extremely busy year with the introduction of a new band member, bassist Matt Mangano, who who has appeared onstage with ZBB in the past and played on their 2012 album Uncaged. John Driskell Hopkins will venture into a jack-of-all-trades role, where he will take on several instruments within the band including the guitar, ukulele, upright bass and banjo. The Zac Brown Band was formed in 2001 by Zac Brown who started out in small venues and festivals. As the band progressed so did the instrumentals, with violin and fiddle players John Hopkins and Jimmy De Martini joining. Their biggest album “The Foundation” catapulted the band into the mainstream where it reached No.2 on the Billboard Hot Country Chart and was later certified Platinum. The band have also been nominated for a multiple Grammy awards, finally winning the 2010 Grammy for Best New Artist.
